The paper examines the economic vulnerability of Mexico's middle class through purchasing power, real wages and inequality. It argues that declining real income and debt pressures weaken a social group that is central to economic stability and growth. The study discusses heterodox wage and distribution policies, entrepreneurship and macroeconomic conditions, and proposes strengthening purchasing power as part of a broader strategy to reduce inequality and reinforce the middle class.
